Richmond Fed Bank President Jeffrey Lacker is just as dismayed by the inflation outlook as the rest of us. Heartening? Maybe. According to a Reuters story, containing inflation should be Job #1 for the Federal Reserve. Of which Lacker is a member. Hopefully, knowing truly is half the battle.
“The inflation outlook right now is at the borderline of acceptable, and perhaps even beyond,” Lacker, who has a vote this year on the Fed’s policy-setting panel, told reporters after speaking to the Conference of State Bank Supervisors.
