NACS Crew Team Company and Crew Team -- Rowing Together for Children and Families

North American Credit Services (NACS) and Medical Services of Chattanooga is a proud sponsor for the 7th Annual Dragon Boat Festival to benefit the areas only Children’s Hospital.

This year’s company crew team is gearing up for a fun, competitive charity challenge, all coming together to help make a positive difference in the lives of children and families. The 2013 fundraiser is planned for Saturday, May 4 at the Tennessee River Park in Chattanooga.

“Dating back more than 2,300 years, Dragon Boat racing features teams of 20 paddlers, a drummer and a steerer in an authentic 41-foot long Chinese dragon boat racing to the finish line,” explains Penny Behling, Dynamic Dragon Boat Racing CEO.

Paddlers of all ages, skill and fitness levels can participate, making it the ultimate team building sport. Teams can also decorate their tents, wear their dragon apparel and cheer throughout the races.

“Our 2012 NACS Crew ladies gave it their all last year and represented us well,” shared Joel Henderson, 4th Year Crew Team Captain and Director of Public Affairs for NACS and Medical Services of Chattanooga. “It’s always an amazing team building experience and I’m confident everyone will once again enjoy the healthy competition, for such an important cause.”

NACS “Super Heroes” 2012 Crew Team

Each team will have one on-water practice prior to the event and compete in at least two heats on race day. Teams will then race in qualifying heats for the title of Grand Champion.

“Top prizes will be awarded to the fastest teams and the teams who raise the most money, but the real winners are the children treated at the hospital,” states Ali Cobb, Annual Giving Director for the Children’s Hospital Foundation. Last years, paddlers and teams collaboratively raised $150,000 in pledges and support for the Children’s Hospital.
