Executive Change: Al Franklin Promoted at Cymetrix

Cymetrix(SM), a leader in providing hospitals with revenue cycle management solutions, announced today the promotion of Senior Vice President Al Franklin to chief operating officer. Franklin, who joined the company in 2003 as vice president of Operations, brings 23 years of healthcare leadership experience and a vast knowledge of revenue cycle management to the position. In his expanded role, Franklin will strengthen operations in support of the delivery of Cymetrix’ Comprehensive Revenue Cycle Management model (CRCM). He will continue to work closely with President and CEO Michael Halberda at the company’s corporate headquarters in Irvine, Calif.

Franklin’s diverse background includes working with a wide variety of providers, including large acute care hospitals, multi-hospital systems and university-affiliated hospitals. He has particular expertise in business office operations and managed care contracting and compliance issues.

Most recently, Franklin was Cymetrix’ senior vice president of Central Region Operations. He has also held the position of vice president of Operations for the Audit and Recovery Division.

Prior to joining Cymetrix, Franklin was vice president of Managed Care Services for a healthcare software and financial services company. He was also president of a medical rehabilitation company in San Diego, Calif., administrator of Physician Network and Development for Sharp HealthCare and director of Managed Care at Hialeah Hospital.

Franklin earned an M.B.A. and a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Administration from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Fla.
