California Association of Collectors Awards $6K in Academic Scholarships

The California Association of Collectors Educational Scholarship Foundation (CACESF) hosted its seventh annual scholarship banquet on March 27, 2012, at The Hyatt Regency Hotel in Sacramento, Calif. Three state high school seniors were awarded scholarship monies totaling $6,000. The first place winner received $2,500, the 2nd place winner received $2,000, and the 3rd place winner received $1,500.

In 2005, the California Association of Collectors, Inc. (CAC) founded the Educational Scholarship Foundation which annually awards academic scholarships to three California high school seniors who write the best essays on the topic, The Importance of Establishing and Maintaining Good Financial Credit During Your College Years. Since its inception, CACESF has awarded $42,000 to California high school seniors. This year, CAC enlisted 19 readers review scholarship applications for the 817 essays it received from high school seniors throughout the state.

The CACESF was established to help California high school graduates pursue their education at any accredited public or private college, university, or trade school, and to emphasize to high school seniors the importance of good credit management.
