Ontario Systems, along with The Debt Marketplace, Absolute Resolutions/Absolute Collections, and Simmonds & Narita, will be among the faculty teaching the Debt Buyer’s Association (DBA) certification course covering the due diligence in, and the history and regulation of the debt buying industry at the DBA’s annual 2014 conference, according to the DBA.

Rozanne Andersen, Ontario Systems Chief Compliance Officer, will present on February 5, during pre-conference activities, highlighting legal compliance, professionalism, and ethics across a 4-hour course.

“For both those new to the industry, and seasoned veterans, these sessions will remain critical to a debt buyer’s success,” Andersen comments. “As of 2016, debt buying professionals must be certified by the DBA to gain and retain membership – An initiative that has already brought an elevated level of service to consumers, employees, and executives in the market. The DBA is front and center in leading the debt buying industry toward a new level of excellence, and this faculty will illustrate that commitment.”

Andersen will be joined by several colleagues during the course, including:

  • Dennis Hammond, President of The Debt Marketplace

  • Mark Naiman, COO at Absolute Resolutions/Absolute Collections

  • Tomio Narita, Attorney/Partner at Simmonds & Narita LLC

“DBA’s Certification Program was developed to establish excellence based on uniform standards for professional conduct, compliance with state and federal regulations and ethical conduct,” said Jan Stieger, executive director of DBA International.

“Recognized for her industry knowledge, Rozanne was among a handful of people selected to develop the curriculum for the Introductory Survey Course on debt buying. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of working closely with Rozanne and I have found her to be a valuable resource and effective instructor. In fact, she has been tapped to teach four of the five sessions since the certification program’s inception.”

Register for the DBA International annual conference, February 5-7, on the DBA website, where those interested in reviewing last year’s presentations may also do so. Andersen will also serve on a panel to discuss the CFPB’s guidelines for establishing a complaint management system at 2:00 p.m. during the afternoon’s pre-conference sessions.
