Columbus, Ohio:  Leading accounts receivable management company TekCollect joined over 31,000 participants on Saturday in Komen Columbus’ Race for the Cure.

The Columbus Ohio event is the largest in the nation and the second largest in the world. TekCollect sponsored a corporate team of 28 members, participating in the 5k run, walk and family fun run. The course wound through the heart of downtown Columbus, taking racers past Nationwide Arena, Huntington Park and the Scioto River. This is TekCollect’s second year sponsoring a team, with plans to extend additional race opportunities to employees throughout the year.

“Our presence in The Race for the Cure serves a dual purpose,” said Ron Douglas, Executive Vice President and one of the first finishers from TekCollect’s team. “Firstly, we get to be part of something very powerful both in our community and the country. Secondly, we are able to promote the health and wellness of our employees. Our team has been conditioning both independently and collectively for several weeks in preparation for the race.”

Komen Columbus Race for the Cure raised over $500,000 for this year’s event, with 75% of funds remaining in Central Ohio for research, education and early detection. To learn more, visit www.komencolumbus.org.
